Selection of milling cutter types

How to choose milling cutter types in milling machining, which directly affects the efficiency, quality, and cost of machining.

Firstly, it is necessary to consider the properties of the material being processed. For materials with higher hardness, such as quenched steel, hard alloy milling cutters or coated milling cutters are usually chosen to provide sufficient cutting ability and wear resistance. For softer materials such as aluminum alloys, high-speed steel milling cutters may be sufficient to meet the demand.
Secondly, choose according to the shape and size of the processing. If it is flat milling, commonly used face milling cutters; For groove machining, end mills, keyway milling cutters, etc. may be required.
Furthermore, the requirement for machining accuracy is also an important factor. For high-precision machining, higher precision solid carbide milling cutters or precision grade cutting tools are preferred.

Precautions:Please select the appropriate milling cutter according to different workpieces and shapes. Please refer to the index of the volume header.
